29CM Leaks Personal Data of More Than 150,000 Customers

South Korean fashion commerce platform 29CM confirmed that abnormal API access exposed customer personal information. The company said it discovered the issue on August 27 and reported it to authorities.

The company said some customer information was leaked after abnormal external access to the API used to look up order details. It reported 138,841 records containing names and 21,011 records containing names, email addresses, mobile phone numbers, and delivery details. Payment information and account credentials were reportedly not exposed. This is a newly disclosed incident involving a large consumer platform and a sizable number of affected customers.
