Government Portals Paralyzed by "Update Loop" Breakdown

National Information Resources Service (NIRS)

A failed software update during routine maintenance crashed the national mobile ID system.

In late January 2025, the NIRS attempted a routine patch on the national authentication gateway. A logic conflict caused a "reboot loop" that took the Mobile ID service and the Government24 portal offline for 14 hours. While not a hack, the breakdown was significant because it occurred during the year-end tax adjustment period, preventing millions of citizens from accessing required financial documents.
